Spotcast was growing rapidly in May 2000, and we finally ran out of room in our little office in Silver Spring’s Zalco building.
So the company took a lease on space down the street, on the tenth floor of 8484 Georgia Avenue.

It turns out the company was in this space for a relatively short time; like many startups of the time, the company ran out of money and luck in December 2000.
It’s interesting to look at these photos now (2014) after downtown Silver Spring has been so thoroughly developed. The Discovery Channel building, one of the major projects in the area, hasn’t yet been built, and the area looks quite different as a result!
